X.500

A set of standards covering electronic Directory Services first developed in 1988. The primary concept of X.500 is that there is a single Directory in the form of a tree. For this it introduces the concept of Distinguished Name; the full path of an object in the directory:

Organizational Unit: Management

Organization: AllThingsCloud

LocalityName: Richmond

State: VIC for Victoria

C:AU for Australia
