Elasttic Computing is an AWS service that provides compute capacity, AKA: Escalable Virtual Machines. The SLA for the services if of 99.99% availability. A public beta was announced in August of 2006, it went full production two years later in October of 2008.

As per the Gartner Quadrant of August of 2020, AWS is the leader in the IaaS space followed by Microsoft and Google
